My podcasting professor in college always drilled the idea of a “t-shaped journalist” in my head—having a variety of skills, but honing in on a particular interest. So, I explored writing, copyediting, design, social media, photojournalism, and video production. My studio art photography minor allowed me to further my training in Photoshop and technical aspects of multiple camera mediums. I even took a data analysis class, which taught me to use SQL, Datawrapper, and Canva to make data digestible for readers.

During my Dow Jones News Fund internship with NY Cannabis Insider, I brought in almost 500 new followers for the LinkedIn profile, driven Tweet impressions by 75% and profile visits by over 800%. Before I joined the team, I received hands-on training with audience engagement professionals from CNN, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Axios, etc.

But, I will always be a writer, specializing in investigative, long-form media. As an avid film buff, amateur astrologist, and fantasy literature enthusiast, I love arts and culture beats, but I’m also proficient in hard news. I’ve reported on topics including energy, business, crime, and medicine.

I’m a bit nosy, but finding other people’s business fascinating makes me a strong interviewer and feature writer.
